The Big Train’s Next Stop:
In a clash that promises to be full steam ahead, Australian sensation Tom Nolan (6-0), known as the 'Big Train,' is gearing up to make his much-anticipated UFC debut against seasoned Brazilian fighter Nikolas Motta at UFC Vegas 84 on January 16th.
Nolan, a former NRL hopeful turned Australian MMA phenom, caught the attention of UFC President Dana White with his explosive performance on Dana White's Contender Series, where he secured a spot in the promotion with a stunning left hook knockout.
White, impressed by Nolan's prowess, dubbed him a "straight killer," acknowledging the young fighter's potential for greatness. The Queensland native, straight out of Team Compton in Brisbane stands six feet three inches tall, dominated the Australian MMA scene, becoming one of the rare athletes to bypass a regional title on a major promotion and skip straight to the UFC.

Nolan went on to decline a quick turnaround offer from the UFC’s Dana White after his Contender Series bout where he viciously stopped Brogan Grad via simulated murder, opting to meticulously plan his entry into the Octagon.
In an interview with Fox Sports Australia, Nolan emphasised the importance of making strategic decisions in the unforgiving world of MMA. Reflecting on his journey, Nolan shared;
"Having had this bit of time off, I now want nothing more than to see someone on the floor unconscious, not breathing. That's what I want. I'm worked up and hungry to be in there."
Nolan's opponent, Nikolas Motta, is no stranger to the spotlight, having recently made headlines for his controversial No Contest decision in a fight where the referee's early stoppage stirred up considerable debate.
Analysing the matchup, Nolan expressed confidence in his abilities, stating;
"He'll want to fight the same way as me, but he isn't as good as me. And his physical attributes don't line up well, either. I'm a taller guy, better gas tank, faster, and use more weapons. I'm going to laser in on his chin and get him out of there quickly."
With a track record of four consecutive stoppage victories, 3 of those taking place on the Aussie regional scene via Eternal MMA. Tom has a reputation for delivering deadly shots, and an appetite for straight violence.
Big Train aims to showcase his dominance in the lightweight division of which he has vowed to become champion.
